“Horrible Customer Service”

I booked a room for 1 night for my husband, daughter and I to sleep in while we stopped in Bakersfield to see family. We booked a king room and requested a roll away bed for our daughter. When we checked in we were told they could not send a roll away bed to a king room and changed us to a queen room and charged us $15 more. This was frustrating when the website lists a roll away bed as an amenity for a king room. We unloaded and headed to hang out with our relatives when we got a call from the front desk agent that checked us in. She told us the neighborhood was not that great and not to leave our bicycles in our truck overnight. What kind of place are we staying at? Our daughter ended up spending the night with her cousins and not at the motel. My husband and I went to the front desk and asked if we could be moved to a king room because our daughter was not going to sleep us. We were told no. We asked if our rate could be lowered to the original rate, we were told no again. When we asked to speak to the manager we were told she was not in. The front desk agent attempted to call the manager but there was no answer so she called the front desk agent that checked us in and asked if our rate could be changed and was told no. We were not happy. We were told we could speak to the manager at 1030am the next morning. We went to our room feeling upset and confused. Why couldn't they change our room? They weren't sold out. Why couldn't they adjust our rate by $15 to the original rate we were quoted? We went to bed and 30min later loud people checked in to the room next to us.It was midnight! Not only could we hear every word they were saying but when they opened their door it sounded like they were trying to get in to our room via the connecting door. We went to the front desk in the morning to speak to the manager. She was waiting for us and she already had been informed of our issue and was willing to give us a 10% discount. We asked her to translate that into dollars and she told us it was about $6. OK if our rate was not raised by $15 when we checked in. We asked for $9 more adjustment to bring the total adjustment to $15. She said no. I told her I was going to contact corporate and she took away our 10% discount and told us she could no longer help us. She printed the receipt and highlighted the 800 number we needed to call. I called the number and was told the hotel manager I just dealt with would be contacting me. She did and offered us 10% off, WHAT A JOKE
