“Decent Hotel, One Major Flaw”

  , Milwaukee
We stayed at the Howard Johnson right before an early flight out of SFO. The neighborhood seemed a little questionable, but the price was right. The staff was very nice, the room was definitely no-frills, but it was clean and quiet, and has a free shuttle to the airportThe problem was in the hallway near our room was a window that faced the alleyway with what appeared to be two bullet-holes in it! I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt since it was an otherwise decent hotel, but what else could possibly look like bullet holes? It made us nervous to stay there. Not wanting to deal with moving/getting a refund, we stuck it out. No problems, but just thinking about it made it tough to sleep. Not sure why they didn't fix the holes, or at least cover them with something? Wouldn't stay again.
