“So much potential, but didn't live up to it.”

The rooms are beautifully set up. But the service left something to be desired. When I checked in, I was given a room key and that's it. I received more information about the area and hotel from a woman sitting in the lobby than I did from the young man behind the desk. I had to come back a couple of times to ask more questions. If the front desk person took a minute to explain the property, point out the pool, point out where the ice machine is (etc), and give a run down of nearby areas to eat/shop, it would be so much better. Instead, I felt like a burden just asking. And having to return a few times to ask. The first day, I left the do not disturb/clean room tag on the door to ask for the room to be cleaned. It wasn't. Finally, I went out for a walk and came back more than an hour later. The tag was removed from the door, but the room still had not been cleaned. And the tag was gone. I had to ask at the front desk a third time. The next two days, again, it was cleaned, but the coffee pot, for example, was left full of the left over hot water I'd used for my instant coffee. The day I left, I tried to tell the room service lady that I had left food in the fridge and to make sure she cleaned it out before the next person came. She did not speak English and just looked at me, shrugged and walked away. Very frustrating.
