We were only spending one night at this location (we had Disney reservations for the rest of our visit). We've spent the night on Irlo Bronson dozens of times, but our usual hotel is no longer a HoJo so we figured we'd be safer sticking with the brand. Wrong answer. We arrived at the hotel around midnight and had to wait a long time to check in. That's not the fault of the hotel employee - the folks ahead of us were English as a third language and seemed to be using a tablet for... you know, I have no clue what they were doing. The bottom line is that it took at least ten minutes for them to get situated and leave the lobby. The hotel staff member was terribly nice and terribly professional. It's important to note that my ranking of this hotel has nothing to do with him. He got us checked in quickly and without issue. Things went downhill fast, however, when we got to the room. None of the lights in the room were plugged in. That seemed really sketchy (my wife's immediate thought was that maybe somebody was shooting porn in the room and used their own lights. I disagree with that, as most porn I've seen uses nicer locations). In the course of plugging in the lights, however, we came across a pair of black panties underneath the table. Yeah, we got the heck out of there fast. The dude at the front desk was again very nice and very professional and he gave us a different room. Honestly, if it wasn't 1 in the morning, we almost certainly would have gone elsewhere but we were tired from a long drive and just didn't feel like putting up a fight. The second room he gave us was acceptable, but the damage was done. I've stayed in some dive hotels, but this was the first place where I felt the need to keep my socks on the whole time. Again, if we felt like we really had viable options we would have bailed. Although the location isn't terrible, I would not be comfortable recommending this hotel to anyone. I don't think it's indicative of the chain and maybe we just had an especially bad experience, but I would not return to this hotel under any circumstances.
