“Decent room for the price”

- I was visiting my son at the sub base again for this trip; the location of the hotel made travel to and from the base was very convenient. I stayed at a competitor on my last trip to Groton. My biggest complaint with the competitor was the poorly reinforced floors. I tried the HJ based upon its price and the website photos; it looked to be more solidly built than the competitor. This HJ does have the odor of an old, smoking property. Heater was a little noisy. The wireless internet had a strong signal but at times slowed to a crawl. At one point, I considered finding a Panera or something similar for a speedier connection. Otherwise, no serious complaints for the price (I paid nearly double for the competitor). Friendly, helpful staff in my interaction with them. I would most likely stay there again as long as: 1. I didn't need the WiFi for work and 2. I am without the family (they are more high-maintenance than I).
