Howard Johnson Inn and Suites Clearwater FL

I do apologize that your stay in the area at a hotel that was not ours was not to your satisfaction. I believe you may have stayed at a Travelodge, or another property? All of our rooms feature a micro-fridge, coffee maker, iron/ board, free WiFi and continental breakfast. Again, I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay while in the area, however it was not at our Howard Johnson. TripAdvisor should be taking this review and attatching it to the proper hotel location. Thank you. « hide

Thank you for choosing to stay with us. We are located on Hwy 19 which has many different businesses, icluding a mall and lots of dining. I apologize for any inconvenience on getting in and out of our property. « hide

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm sorry you have gotten the impression that our staff is anything but as helpful as we can possibly be. We do still offer smoking rooms. Our smoking and non-smoking rooms are listed separately as differing options. I would NEVER recommend that any person who does not smoke to stay in a smoking room. The people who do smoke request these rooms specifically so that they can smoke in the rooms. We do typically offer a 24hr in advance of the reservation date, an option to cancel reservations. Also, we would encourage any specific requests or needs by any guest, to call us directly and let us know; whether its travelling with a pet, needing a crib, requesting a sofa-bed, or making sure a specific room is available. Most of the time we are only too happy to change room types if we have them. However, during certain times of the year when we are at 100% occupency, our hands are often tied.I'm truly sorry that your experience wasn't pleasant. Thank you for your review. « hide

Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. I'm glad that you have chosen our hotel to stay in while you are visiting the area. March is the busiest season for the Clearwater, FL area. When we have so many special events occurring, the rates do adjust to a higher rate. I think you would still find that our rates during March are competitively matched with similar hotels in the area.We hope you will choose to stay with us again in the future. « hide

I'm unaware of the pool or spa being closed at all this entire month of March; perhaps it was during the evening hours when our pool area is closed? Our pool is not heated, but our jacuzzi is. Also, I'm sorry you felt there was an issue with towels. We do have a certain set initially in the room, but are always able to supply more as is needed. I'm sorry if you were made to feel that we would be bothered getting our guests anything extra that they require.Thank you for letting me know of the issues you had during your stay. I apologize if you found our hotel unfavorable due only to the seasonal pricing. The pricing for your extended stay was at a discounted price for the time that you were scheduled to stay. Because the hotel was referred by a friend of yours, we discounted the room as a courtesy. Our rates are, in fact, much higher for this time period, as is evidenced by an online review.
