“Overcharged”

I stay at this hotel 3 nights a week, every month, and have for over two years. I have always had great customer service and loved it. Recently, there have been some personel changes and the sevice isn't the same. The week of New Years, my aution dates were rearranged. I told the staff that I would need a late check out on Friday Jan 4th. I rarely do this, but have never had a problem in the past. I gathered my things and told the cleaning lady , around 2:30 , that she could clean. I got a call later, from the girl, at the front desk, telling me that I owed for that day. I told her that I told the front desk I needed a "late checkout" and also that I had told the cleaning lady. She told me it didn't count, becaus I didn't come to the front desk , a second time, and tell them. I paid the extra fee, but feel that I was overcharged. I am thinking about changing hotel, becaus ethe personal customer relationship isn't the same.
