“I've seen "no-tell" motels that were in better shape.”

Staff - great, cleanliness - much better than I expected but the building obviously needs a lot of help. From the two ceiling tiles that had huge stained, gaping holes in them to the broken, worn out furniture from 1987 that really needs to just go away. Lets start with I got a fair rate. I was in town, planning on heading back home after completing a task at one of my companies local offices. The task ran long and was more strenuous than originally anticipated so I decided to stay in town for the night. I was greeted warmly by the night clerk and was given a room that was very close to the lobby. Perfect, I was worn out and just wanted to go to bed. I rounded the corner from the lobby and there it was, a dinner-plate sized hole across two ceiling tiles. Not a good first impression.I get into the room and it's much larger than I expected. A very subtle surprise. I find the light and turn it on, whoa pastel pinks, Jackson Pollock style patterns and whitewashed rounded corner wood furniture. I love the 80s but his was too much. I put our stuff down on the table and it let out a groan, not good. I then put everything else on the floor. What I didn't notice until the next morning was that one of the table legs was broken and at a 30* angle. We had grabbed dinner on the way in so I put the bag on the coffee table and sat down on the couch. *Fwump!* next thing I know my knees are almost to my chest and my butt is almost on the floor. Despite the obvious age of everything it was pretty damned clean. The white stuff was white and all the surfaces were spotless. It was quite impressive. The bed was a little on the hard side but I slept very well on it. Even though the window faced the freeway almost no noise got through. If I had remembered to turn on the A/C the freeway noise would have been completely absent. Added features: Wi-fi - Very good no drama, just a promise to behave page and I was on. Even the signal was good. TV - Older tube, but that is fine, no drama or hotel advertising, no scratchy picture like most Hiltons I've been in and the channel selection looked to be pretty good. Coffee - it was good, the carafe dribbled but that is par for the course. Breakfast, Wish I got the wife to wake up in time for it. From what I saw them cleaning up it was quite a spread. In summary, The Rocklin Ho-Jo's is a good place to stay. There are improvements being made, hopefully they will get to the rooms sooner than later.
