“Horrible hotel with bugs!”

  , Anniston
I was visiting Athens for my grand daughter's birth. I needed a room close to the hospital, and just for the night. Apparently there was a home game at UGA and there were no rooms available at all of the local hotels. There was one room here. I have allergies and needed a non-smoking room. I was told it was non-smoking and there was a non-smoking sign on the door, however, when I opened the door to my room, it smelled very foul! I turned on the lights and sat my bad down. In the bathroom, there was a small bug in the bathtub. I killed it. There was another small bug on the coffee pot, and I killed it as well. I tried to rest, but I kept hearing a dripping noise. I looked in the bathroom, but didn't see any dripping. Then I opened the door and there was water dripping from the walk way upstairs, down onto the hood of the truck parked in front of my room. It was very loud and annoying. And it was a clear night, no rain in sight, so I have no clue where the water was coming from upstairs. Then at 2:30 am, drunk guests were loud and obnoxious and beating on the doors and walls outside. They would get quiet, then loud again. This stopped around 4:00 am after another guest threatened to call the police. (I was about to as well.) I finally fell back asleep, only to be awakened with a large bug crawling on my arm!! I was not able to go back to sleep. So I went to shower, and the first towel I grabbed had reddish-brown marks smeared on the towel. It looked like dried blood or mud. The other towel appeared clean. This was the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed and I will not stay here again. On top of this horrible situation, they charged me $172.00 for this room that is normally approximately $45.00!!! (Just because of the home football game for Georgia bulldogs!) Upon check out, I was asked about my stay and told them it was horrible and that there were bugs in my room too. The clerk said he had already told his manager about the bugs and would tell him again. He didn't offer to refund my money, not even a portion of it. Nor did he offer to do anything else about it. He simply ignored me!! Please do not stay here!!
