“Good value in Yakima, central location”

  , Lake Oswego
We stayed 2 nights at the Yak Hojo for some wine touring. The Yak Hojo is located downtown and provides easy access to Zillah, Yakima, Naches Heights and Selah tasting rooms. (Steppe, Cultura, Gilbert/JBNeufeld, 2Mtn, Southard-and many more)We booked online through the hotel website (Wyndham) & requested over a month in advance- a 2nd floor room for quiet/privacy and when we arrived were told they were being deep cleaned. REALLY? ALL 2nd floor rooms were being deep cleaned-this is a LARGE hotel with many wings/rooms. So we got stuck on the 1st floor, which felt a bit unsafe & exposed, as our room opened to a parking lot with double glass doors. We found out this "deep clean story" was obviously untrue, as other people we met who stayed the same dates as we did got the 2nd floor and had a quieter stay- as a result. People were loud in the room next door until 10pm, slamming doors, talking loud, etc. No fault of the hotel, as some people are just inconsiderate of others and completely self absorbed, but had we had the quieter room upstairs we actually booked in advance it may have been a more comfortable, better situation! Breakfast is adequate with eggs, hash browns, hot sweet buns, toast, hot or cold cereal, juice, coffee/tea, fruit (apple/oranges) and is self served, which is nice-no waiting!Bed was comfortable, a bit soft for my preference, but clean room, adequate amenities: WiFi, fridge/microwave, coffee maker, iron/board were convenient. Towels and linens are a bit ragged (thin towels and sheets a bit pilly, but I've slept in far worse). Room was dark, had trouble seeing-one light out in bathroom added to overall darkness.
