“Good value”

This former Jameson Inn, which was in turn formerly a Signature Inn, has been recently (~Jan. 2013) revamped as a Howard Johnson. The amenities are a solid 2* or maybe 2.5* offering. The rooms and property were clean, the free WiFi worked without problems, and there was plenty of parking.A softer mattress would have been nice, but the beds were not uncomfortable. The top bedspread was made of a slick material and kept sliding off the bed, which was mildly annoying. There didn't appear to be a way to keep the A/C fan running in order to block out background noise, so bring your own fan or white noise machine if that's important to you. The mini fridge in the room produced a gurgling sound that would come and go on occasion. We heard a few slamming doors and someone running down the hall, but other than that it was reasonably quiet. The biscuits and gravy were really good. I just wish there could have been something different each morning (scrambled eggs, sausage links, hashbrowns, cheese omelet, etc.). When staying four nights, I don't necessarily want biscuits and gravy every morning. The waffles were kind of rubbery, so they didn't make a very good alternative to the biscuits and gravy.Overall, a decent place to stay. Not as nice as most Hampton Inns, but not as expensive as most Hamptons either.
