“Very surprised”

I was SHOCKED when I walked into our room. We chose this motel for a couple of reasons... the first was it had a pool. the pool was excellent! my family had a wonderful time swimming and enjoying ourselves. The rooms were another matter. The first room we walked into was run-down and looking very poor... the bath tub was filthy, and the walls had cracks. there were poor repairs done on the dry wall. after visiting the pool area we decided to upgrade to a pool side room. the manager graciously switched our rooms and we moved all our things. the room was warm so we turned the air conditioning on and went back to the pool. after about an hour we went back to our room and it was almost 85 degrees in our room. I went to the front desk to ask about getting it fixed and the manager told me that you cannot have heat and AC at the same time... all they could do is get us a fan... It was way to hot to stay in that room so we switched back to our original room. I was not refunded the upgrade cost on my final bill. When I booked our room I did it for a couple of reasons. as stated before one was the pool, the other was the reputation Howard Johnson had. I was VERY disappointed and will not be staying in your motels again. Thank You, Joe Bishop
