“Once Was Great”

This property is in major need of upkeep and repair. It is obvious this place was once an outstanding property. However, it is no longer that great. The roof of the tropical done has many holes in it. There are puddles of water on the floor and the furnishings. The dry sauna is non-functioning. The paint on the walls in the hallways and exterior are peeling and fading. the shutters on the windows are coming loose. The room had very few electrical outlets accessible to the customer to use. The nightstand was busted like someone had kicked it in. There were no comforters on the bed. When asked to moved we were told they were sold out. Also, the walls are thin and the non-smoking room smelled of smoke. The bathroom has no ventilation fan. The room smelled overall stuffy. The towel rack in the bathroom was coming off the wall. In addition, the coat rack was coming off. There was no ice machine near the room. The only one appeared to be in the lobby in a separate building. The wi-fi was very bad. An employee slipped and told me they use home service versus business class. Most of the time I could not get it to work at all. The cable went out in the middle of the night (we woke up) and the staff could not solve it. The staff said they tried to call but kept getting a recording. I guess I should be happy they tried. The lights in the room were only partiallt functional. The two by the bed did not work. The overhead was two spots on a track. When we called uncle and checked our after one night they raised the rate of the room to the rate on that day. I have no problem with the removal of the 20% discount for staying 3+ nights. However they not only removed the discount but also raised the rate to the higher rate in effect on that day. My advice, look at other hotels. We did and found one within a short distance that was cleaner, brighter, quiter, and overall better for a lower price per night.
