“Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else”

I booked this room because of the decent reviews that I saw on TripAdvisor. At first the room looked okay. A few things were not working well, but it was a bargain price. The Air conditioner seemed to be working okay when I left to take a walk and get some dinner. Later the AC started making some noises and then quit working a few minutes before midnite. I tried turning it off and on and moved the thermostat around to try to get it to engage, but it was just making noises. The lady running the front desk did give me a different room. So, I moved all my stuff into the new room and the AC in that room was working so well I had to warm the room up. By that time it was about 1 AM and I had a long day ahead of me as I had to drive 550 miles by myself.I laid down to sleep, but it was too cold. I had to open up the door to let the cold air out and then after a while I bundled up and laid down again and finally got some sleep but it took quite a while because it was too cold. In the morning I told the manager and she said sometimes those things just break. I asked her for an adjustment to the bill and she took a that's the way things go attitude and offered me nothing. I explained that the reason I stopped and booked a room at her place was to get some sleep as I had a lot miles to drive. She didn't care. So I said I'd contact Wyndham. She then said she couldn't refund anything since I booked through the internet. I told her I booked the room through their corporate parent Wyndham's website ( which I'm sure she already knew) so I would take it up with them. Finally she offered to take $10 off after I explained that I didn't book the room to move to another room late at night and then get poor sleep and not much of it and then having to drive a long way.
