“Room was filthy”

  , Beaver Harbour
Upon opening the door to this smoking room, myself being a non-smoker, the overwhelming and unbearable odor of cigarette smoke slapped me in the face. Somewhat understandable for a smoking room (my Mom is a smoker) but being the room was on the ground floor with only a patio door and no window, for security reasons I was unable to have the door open hence being choked out by the cigarette smoke of my Mother and a thousand previous guests. The was on the outside of the shower was spongy from leakage and the carpet outside of the bathroom was full of mould. As well everytime we or anyone else in the rooms around us flushed a toilet our drains gurgled and there was constantly "debris" floating in our toilet. There was dirt and grime on the tables, television, doors and even in the tub and the floor of the bathroom. There was even a blood stain on the blanket on one of the beds. This was by far the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in and at $300 for 2 nights I felt like even a smoking room should have been better than that. Goes to show smokers deserve less respect than non-smokers. The counter staff was polite enough but noticeably less professional than at most hotels. The restaurant staff however were incredibly nice. I most definitely will not be returning to this hotel...EVER!
