“Trip to Washington DC”

  , Charlotte
When we arrived their was total confusion at the front desk. They put us in a room that was in their older building and we had to take the elevator to the 4th floor walk over an overpass and then go down 2 flight of steps with all of our luggage to get to the room. One of the staff at the check in counter had to help us because there were two people there and neither one of them could explain how to get to the room. Not to mention the began to bicker about it. When got to the room we settled in and my husband noticed blood on the back wall behind the door in the bathroom. (Maybe for someone cutting them selves shaving but never the less it was still there GROSS) We immediately called the front desk, they advised us that they would send someone up and that they were going to change our room. We then had to pack up climb 2 flights of steps with all of our luggage, go up the the 4th floor go over the overpass and then down the elevator (which by the way is VERY SMALL) back to the front desk to get another room. The room they gave us was in the main hall way near the entrance. You can tell it was a newer room and nicer. The only problem was that the air conditioner was making a very loud noise all night long so we were a little sleep deprived. We advised the front desk in the morning about the air conditioner and they had maintenance come and fix it immediately. After all of that we went to the breakfast that they offered. Typical continential breakfast however the room that people were sitting in and eating didn't have any air conditioning so it was VERY VERY hot. The shuttle service to and from the Metro station was excellent. On time going there and on the way back we called 2 stops before we were to arrive and they were there waiting for us. If we were put in the 2nd room at the beginning our of stay I would have been happier. All and all for the price we paid, the free breakfast, free WiFi and shuttle service the hotel was OK.
