“I will stay here again.”

  , Eugene
The room and service was fine, however there are a couple of issues that could use some attention. One, I had asked for and had gotten confirmation that I would have a ground floor room, but on my arrival there were none to be had, not a big deal since I was alone. The second issue concerned me more it had to do with the smoke detector: On my arrival I discovered that the smoke detector was covered by a plastic bag and the battery compartment was open. I removed the bag, correctly set the battery in the compartment, and tested the unit, it worked fine. The issue here is that it is likely that a previous occupant covered the detector and opened the battery compartment, but it appears that no one who works at the facility checked the unit prior to my arrival. This is not a good thing to be left to the chance that a retired firefighter will be the next occupant.
