“Our Stay in Tragic City”

Ho-Jo's lack of attention to detail, including sending this Rating to my LAST name, is remarkable! Their effort to update a well-worn property is admirable, but things went down-hill after a VERY pleasant check-in! There was no lighting on the walls or on the desk, which is the norm for newer properties. Just a ceiling light in the sleeping area. Staff went next door to the Knights Inn to get a table lamp. There were no instructions to operate a very sophisticated climate control system. Internet was not available to my laptop, though I had used it the other 23 nights on our trip. (No one could explain that...)The TV remote was not very responsive, and I had to joust with the Front Desk young man to get a new battery! (It worked perfectly after that...) Over-all, the staff seemed to be scrambling to put out numerous brush fires, and they seemed to be overwhelmed by the recent exit of their entire housekeeping staff! (Note that I have given POSITIVE hotel ratings where they were warranted, but the Traverse Ho-Jo was the most ill-prepared AND EXPENSIVE facility we stayed at from Michigan out to Utah-and-Idaho, and back!)We felt jilted by Ho-Jo and Wyndam, and after NUMEROUS trips from our room down to the front desk to get things rectified, I felt like I was on their staff!!!
