“Was an affordable, comfy room but it needs reliable maid service”

  , Kenora
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights because it was close to the Red River Exhibition. We asked for the business room which was larger than the others and paid an extra $10 per night. The initial cleanliness of the room was good and we liked the space, the beds were comfortable, and made use of the fridge. The front desk clerk brought us up a cot very quickly after we asked for it. We visited the lounge and the servers were friendly, there quite a few vlt's and we thought it had a good atmosphere. The restaurant offered a breakfast special at $3.99 and it was really good, their cook did a good job, and even though there was only 1 server each morning with lots of customers, they were pretty organized and met our needs. The down side was that we never saw the maid for the 3 days and the air conditioner was too small for the size of the room and felt more like a fan blowing the hot, humid air around. After our first night, we returned from the Ex and our room was not made up, the garbage was still in the cans and our dirty towels were still in the tub. We called the front desk clerks who were very helpful and brought us clean towels, gave us more coffee and took our garbage away for us. We did complain about the maid service and at first they offered us a free night stay on our next visit but we let them know we would not be returning so they gave us our first night (the cheapest one) free. If I need an affordable place to stay, I might stay again for a night but not for any longer than that.
