“If cleanliness and breakfast are not on your must have list, then this is the hotel for you!”

While this was my first stay at a Howard-Johnson, I certainly had higher expectations for the hotel chain than what was delivered. The room was clean for the most part, with the exception of the food that had been left in the mini-fridge for who knows how long, and the Q-Tips in the flower pot in the hall. The continental breakfast is a joke. There is one person trying to keep up with the 30-40 people who were eating. As a family with kids, it is much easier for me to be able to take the kids to breakfast within the hotel. Needless to say, we had to wait for breakfast that morning until we left. If you wanted orange juice, fruit, or cereal you were in luck, but that was it. Everything else had run out. The poor employee physically could not keep up with all the guests. This stay was comparable to a $29.99 per night rundown motel down the street! :(It wasn't what we expected to say the least! (I did alert the front desk of the problems that had occurred and we were given $16 off of a a hotel bill that was nearly $100, needless to say I will not be returning! )
