“Terrible from the Beginning”

I had a terrible visit at the Howard Johnson hotel in Billings, MT. The price of my hotel room was probably tripled because there was a sporting event going on. I was not in town for the sporting event, I was in town for the hospital. To start my stay off in Billings, I rented an overpriced room from HOJO only to find out that it was room that hasn't been renovated in quite a few decades. This was not enough for me to care because I don't have very high expectations of hotel rooms. People were running up and down the halls and screaming. I called the front desk at 10:30 and they said they would check it out. They said nobody was in the hall at the time, but I heard the noise for several more hours. I didn't get much sleep... neither did my two children that were with me. In the morning, I went to take a shower to discover there was no hot water... not even warm water! It was lukewarm at best!! I had to give my two young children a cold bath after my cold shower because I needed to wash the chlorine out of their hair. After a HORRIBLE morning, I went to the front desk because I was so angry about the terrible nights sleep and freezing water situation. She told me she would let maintenance know about the lack of hot water. When I asked for some type of compensation she said she didn't know what could be done and her manager was rarely in the office and didn't have a set schedule. I left my name and phone number for the manager and have not heard back (SURPRISE, SURPRISE!). I would have been less angry about this terrible hotel service if I wasn't paying a 300% mark-up from the normal rates. When you pay for a hotel you are paying for a good night's sleep and a hot shower. I didn't get either.
