“Awesome if you're killing time until next flight--3.5 Stars”

  , Kapolei
For the purposes of killing time until your next flight (say, if you arrived at EWR in the afternoon and your next flight is in the morning), it's an awesome hotel. It's the cheapest option (from my research at the time of my trip) and it serves its purpose. The room's clean (apart from the aircon/heater vent), the bathroom's clean, the internet's good (as long as you're not streaming a video) and the TV has a good selection of channels. The bed's not the best, but if you're really tired, it'll do the trick. The surprise for me was the hotel restaurant, "Ambrosia". I was afraid the food was going to be mediocre and considered taking the shuttle back to the hotel to get dinner, but I was too tired from traveling so I ordered chicken strips (comes with fries) and fried calamari. I was pleasantly surprised. The fried calamari was definitely from frozen and not like the picture, but they were cooked well. The fries were probably from frozen but also cooked well. The chicken strips could've been from frozen, but I think they were hand dipped at the restaurant. I finished everything and was very satisfied with my meal. If I wasn't so tired, I totally would've gone back down to tip the restaurant. I ordered to go and didn't tip. Felt bad afterward. Another thing to know is that the hotel offers a shuttle to the city for $15 OW & $25 RT. It's worth using the shuttle if you're going RT, but if you're just going OW, I'd take the shuttle to EWR and use MTA to get into manhattan. Bottom-line: If I need a hotel near EWR, I'm definitely staying here.
