Howard Johnson Hotel - Newark Arpt

Dear Kathryn G, Hello, I am the General Manager of the hotel and would like to sincerely apologize for the incidents that occured on/near property grounds. The signage outside the hotel is tough to read and notice but please excuse us on this issue as the upper management is discussing and making a decision on whether to raise the hotel's outdoor sign. The external noises were,agreeably, disturbing to many and we try our best to reduce the noise as much as possible for all of our guests. However, please do not mind the location as the hotel is in the safe area of Newark and not towards the slums and ghettos as it might have disturbed you. Please excuse all the issues you faced and we are always trying to make our guest's stay better than ever everyday to the best of our ability. Thank you for your concerns. The shuttle to and from the airport has been one of our strongest points and many of our international flying customers love the feature and the value got from it beats any of the hotel in the area by far in comparison. I am glad that you have given us 4/5 stars in value and sleep quality, however we do our best to improve our overall room quallity on a continuous basis. Dear Walter S, Hello my name is Neal Gandhi, the general manager at this hotel and would like to apoligize on behalf of the inappropriate service. I understand that you were confronted by a gentleman who was sour in nature and did not give a good impression at first sight but please behalf of him I would like to apologize since I know the person and already conveyed the disappointment you had and have told him to change his attitude. On the other side, you had an issue with the rooms where the chairs and tables were missing, which is a big fault from us and as a manager I have taken action on it immediately and added brand new furniture. You also had a bad experience with the restaurant as well but may I remind you that we have little to no afiliation with the restaurant and runs as a separate business but is only using the land of the hotel. I saw that the bed that was provided was not comfortable for you and your children however we are in the works of receiving a new batch shipment of mattresses very soon and will be replaced in the room. In terms of continental breakfast we have little flexibility because of the restaurant on the property that is not allowing us to provide for our guest. Please excuse the mistakes made and the disappointment of your stay since we are changing many things for a good reason within the hotel. Thank You.
