“second floor”

I am a regular visitor (Once a month on average.) at the hotel in Toms River NJ. My employer books my room and I deliver a seminar at the same location the next day. I am usually in a 1st fl room & it's handy to move my equipment from my room to the below grade room in which I'm delivering my program. This stay, I was given a 2nd floor room more than 1/2 way down the hall from the elevator. In the morning I wheeled my bags all the down the hall to the elevator, intending to make a single trip to my meeting room & then get breakfast before my class.THE ELEVATOR WAS NOT WORKING. I waited for the elevator, which didn't come - then had to make 2 trips to walk my gear down the stairs, leaving 1/2 my posessions, unprotected, on the 2nd floor landing. The additional time involved did not allow me to get any breakfast. I was irritated by all these events. The staff was less than sympatethic. It seemed like it was a minor thing to them - they'd get someone to look at the elevator. No offer to have staff help with my bags.
