“Very Disappointed”

 
When we arrived that front desk was courteous, but the floors looked like they hadn't been mopped in a long time and the carpets neede vaccuming. The first room we had was on the first floor and the hallway reeked of cigarette smoke. When we got to our room the door would only partially open. I went down and reported that door and asked if they had given us a smoking room. I was told no, but that it was on the smoking floor so that was the reason for the smell. I stated that we needed to have a non-smoking room away from the smell. There were hardly any people staying there and the clerk wasn't sure she could find us another room. She finally found a room on the second floor. When we got in the elevator it made all sorts of strange noises and felt like it was going to break down. The inside of the elevator door had been covered with bathroom wall siding. Our room was very disappointing. The bathroom was not very clean. The paint was chipping off the walls. There were stains on the sink cupboard. The vent for the bathroom was hanging from the ceiling and it did not work. I went to get ice and they had only one ice machine for a three story motel and that was out of order. I had to go to the restaurant in the motel and get ice. It would have been nice to have been told this when we checked in before I went all over the place trying to find an ice machine. The curtains in the room were starting to come unhooked from the rod and the air conditioner and heater did not work correctly. There was only one speed - fast and cold. The dial just turned around and round and didn't change any settings. I would rather sleep in my car than stay here again.
