Stayed at this hotel on a Saturday night during ski season with my son. We would have preferred to stay closer to ski area but all hotels closer required two night minimum and we could not do that as we only had one day to ski. We knew going in that hotel was rated 2 stars so we were not expecting Ritz Carlton type luxury. The good. Great AAA price of $80 for a room with a king size bed. The shower had hot water, which should not assumed at a 2 star. The staff was extremely nice. The restaurant was decent although when we walked in the restaurant my 8 year old son looked at me and said "Daddy, it smells weird." He was correct. The prices at the restaurant were very good. Our dinner bill was around $25 bucks with a generous tip. We both had entrees I had two beers. Try to get that price in Manhattan! The average or bad. The room was ice cold. Yes, it is winter but you do not expect ice cold room. The heater worked well once we turned it on and would have been included in the good except that it was as loud as an airplane about to take off. The pillows were the plump firm variety. I do not understand why cheaper hotels go for the plump firm ones. If you do not like a plump pillow you are out of luck. Since they included four pillows on the bed why can't they go with the thinner variety and if a guest wants a thick pillow then they use two? Again, not expect Ritz Carlton luxury for a Walmart price, but common sense should prevail. Our synopsis is that if you have reasonable expectations going in this hotel can work for you, although I feel like if our trip had been for more than two days instead of just one the hotel would have gotten old very quickly.
