“Frightning and Filthy. The worst hotel experience I have had in 30 years.”

  , New York
From the moment we walked into the dump, we felt something was amiss. It might have been the hollow eyed girl in the housedress with needle tracks on her arms chain smoking outside the side door. It didnt get any better when I noticed the worn out greasy rugs on the steps, the vending machine that dispensed diet Coke when you requested water, or the oozing peeling wallpaper in the rooms. The 80's vintage TVs were almost as charming as the brackets left on the walls for hanging flat screens. Not sure if those are to come, or they were taken by previous guests, because whomever was staying in this hotel looked like they had business that involved fencing stolen goods. Not sure why the guys in heavy parkas were circling the inner courtyard, or why two drunken girls were catfighting in the lobby over the ATM, or why that guy came to pay for his room in singles and fives. Some of which he had to unroll. Dark eyed girl was later seen on the second floor walking with a guy in baggy pants and was overheard saying someting about she hoped he thought she was "as good as her advertisement". You cant make this stuff up. All night long there were guys in the hall on their cellphones, outside their rooms, and when the bar closed, I was awoken by a drunken arguement between a couple in the room next to mine. The pool room stunk of grease from the adjacent kitchen. The door to the pool was broken, and there were no towels. Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't name some good points about the hotel. The desk staff was very accomodating in cancelling my second night of stay. The beds were pretty comfortable, (notwithstanding the threadbare blankets, which I needed to put over the carpet. Still trying to figure out what that sticky patch on the carpet was). Oh, and lastly, I didn't get bedbugs from this place. So there is that.
