“Overpriced And Less Than Mediocre”

The desk clerk at check in and check out was friendly enough, but the overall experience was not good. The TV remote only worked half the time, the ice machine on the 2nd floor did not work at all and the drink machine took money without vending. The WiFi signal was horrible. The room was not adequately supplied (only had a partial roll of tissue and ran out). The cleaning lady came in even though we had the do not disturb sign on the door and we had to argue with her to get her to leave. She had a poor grasp of English and brought her kids with her...they also came in the room. We also had to go through the same thing the next day. And to top it off, we found out that another guest, who was attending the same event as us, had to be moved to another room due to bed bugs. This was extremely scary and costly to make sure that we didn't bring anything home with us. For nearly $170, I expect a stay at a place that is better quality than this. I believe that this stay reflects poorly on Howard Johnson as a chain. Not sure if I will use HoJo again, but definitely not this one.
