“Old, Rundown Hotel”

I will not stay here again, and would probably be leery of staying at other Howard Johnson hotels. Place was littered with cigarette butts EVERYWHERE outside, complained to front desk about this. The rooms need paint badly as there was lots of paint missing or cracked. When we checked in there was a ring around toilet from lack of cleaning. The Wifi was horrible, had lots of difficulty connecting and staying on the internet, complained to front desk and she said her phone was having problems connecting too. Our room wasn't cleaned after our first night, inquired about it at front desk and the young girl working was apologetic, got us new towels and changed the garbages. When I asked about being compensated I was told the manager would be in the next morning, and although the manager was also apologetic the next day and took $30 off our bill, I can't believe our room wasn't cleaned. Pool area was nice for kids, and the spa pool was nice and big. Breakfast was also good in the mornings, lots of variety. Even with the positive things, the negative aspects of this hotel weigh more, and with the multitude of hotels in Grand Forks, I will not be choosing this one when I come back at the end of the summer.
