I should have known just by the parking lot that this was a roach motel. There is no property maintenance performed at all. The parking lot pot holes can damage the suspension of your vehicle, the lobby is in shambles, and not guest friendly thanks to the staff. It is the only hotel lobby I've ever been in that I felt unwelcomed in, and as a business traveler I use the lobby a lot. The wall paper in the lobby is falling apart, there are apparent water damage stains everywhere, the staff appears to be job hunting for their next career, and the front desk is in absolute chaos. I booked in three weeks in advance on Wyndam's website a smoking room, with a queen sized bed. What I got was a non-smoking queen, but was charged for the smoking room. There is a price difference between the two. From the looks of the carpet, and the duvet and the sheets, it appears that someone had already been smoking in it. There were burn holes in all three. The sheets had a shade of grey almost black to them, they were supposed to be white, but there was a nice big non-smoking room sign on the door. Needless to say it is a smoking room again. The sheet set was so bad that my fiancee and I bought a comforter set to put on the bed prior to sleeping. The beds are horrible. the mattress is like sleeping on the mattress of a roll away cot. Here is the fun part, only three out of the five light fixtures in the bed area worked. After midnight the WiFi system is spotty at best. I was working on reports when the WiFi went out and my submission never made it. The bathroom is a joke, the shower curtain rod was not anchored into the wall and as my girlfriend opened the curtain the rod fell and hit her in the head causing her to fall and smasher her knee on the side of the tub. It appeared that the shower curtain rod used to have screws in it but for our particular visit they seemed to be optional. The hot water takes almost ten minutes to kick in. The TV in the room is twenty years old and it shows. The secure doors that are supposed to keep the public from the guests do not work, and the walkways and stairs that lead t the ground floor are not maintained. I walked out the door and the top stair was solid ice. Had I not been quick on my feet it would have been a long way down. The purpose of the visit to the Ho Jo itself was to scout for hotel rooms for our wedding. We planned on booking quite a few, but after the stay I had I would gladly put them in the YMCA downtown. « less

This is a great economy hotel. A comfortable bed, nice television set, workdesk, and most important, an airport shuttle, all for around $60. You can't beat that! more »
