- The hotel is old but that is not an excuse for filthy rooms, both sleeping and Ballroom. I stayed one night only and travelled back for the ballroom meeting from Newmarket rather than stay another night. The bed was wooden with no box spring just an old mattress on top of the wooden frame. I checked under and between the bed for a plug outlet and was disgusted by the accumulated dirt and other debris. Every attendee on the course in the ballroom was upset by how dirty the floors were. It did not just require a clean but the carpet needs replacing as it was covered in what looked like grease stains and in ground food residue.The staff were pleasant and the lunch was fine and the morning breakfast was good.I stay in many hotels, in fact every week. As long as this hotel is the way it is I will never return and the government client will not either. I would be very dubious about HoJo in the future.
