“Will never understand why a Wyndham Group hotel doesn't have a handler on their OWN website for credit card payment.”

Ended up having my friend not stay here based on the original reservation. I had booked two weeks on their own company website, only to be told that it ONLY parks the reservation. This devastating information came AFTER my friend had already arrived on the hotel doorstep and was thus put out a night due to this insanity (in cash). I expected that, based on the printout that clearly stated "confirmed" and "no additional payment required", that things were fine before arrival and fully paid up. Alas, as they inform me that they do not process in advance online like any other hotel worldwide, I was sent scrambling to process a different room at a different price quote to maintain the stay via third-party handler. While the original selected suite was also vacant for the period required, the options originally serviced were not available via their "third-party" handler, to which the hotel gave no concern. Also was upset there was no coupon-code or anything the hotel could do to help smooth this issue over to try to maintain the original price. They simply would just release my reservation so I wasn't charged for my "missed reservation". At the end of the day, I don't see why I didn't just book one hotel up the road where service was better. I felt this was absolutely a four letter "s" word. I also felt my value for money was non-existent.While staff were also somewhat flippant and uncaring about this, to the point where they initially refused the idea they my friend was staying there at all (all the while in their lobby, text messaging me, crying her eyes out over this) - calling at a different shift time helped alleviate this matter with the hotel, but left my friend in a horrible bind. The evening male (owner) was useless compared to the daytime female (staffer). She was aware of the situation and at least a little more helpful to ensuring my female friend's safety and security as a solo traveller. She also showed SOME hospitality, which is what the hotel industry is based on, so thank god for that. I will regard that, until this hotel deals with some issues of communication both internally and externally... and gain some respect for the people who pay their cheques, NO GUEST should stay here until these issues are sorted out. Be prepared to FIGHT for the basics if you stay at this one.
