“Luck of the draw: Whereas the desk captain was personable, accomodating and courteous...”

  , Los Angeles
the room in which we were assigned happened to be directly below a room that was occupied by persons who had other things on their minds than sleep. We stayed in our room for two nights. Both nights, we were disturbed be the sound of, what seemed to be, a heavy person walking back and forth and doing some kind of task-oriented activity over a period of no less than three hours between 2 to almost 5 am with breaks of 10 to 20 minutes before some similar sound of foot movement reoccurred---just enough to keep us from going back into a deep sleep. Our beds were comfortable and everything else was good, but this significant problem went on both nights. We complained to the desk captain, who was willing to move us for the second night, but we decided to take our chances and remain put, but the same disturbances made our stay quite miserable.
