“Poor Communication Between Call Center and Hotel”

I called the 800# for reservations the same day we were going to be staying here. I was told there were vacancies, and we booked the room. I told the man we would be a late arrival, and he said it would not be a problem. Upon arrival to the hotel, the desk clerk said the only room availible had issues with the A/C unit. He said it was the only room available in the city because of an event taking place. I asked for a discount since it was obviously HoJo's fault, and he told me it was impossible to discount the room any further than the AAA discount. (He was a manager, I know he could have.) He said he wasn't sure how I got reservations because he had that room marked as full so it wouldn't accidently be filled. (Didn't work=P) He walked me up to the room before we agreed to stay, and it was very warm and comfortable (temp wise). After settling in, we realized he must have had space heaters plugged up before we got there because the room chilled off QUICK! The room was noisy, and the bathroom was dirty. He acted as if we were a major inconvenience to him just by being there. This hotel has relitively good reviews compared to other hotels in the area, so this was probably a one-time mishap. I recommend calling the actual hotel itself and checking for vacancies!
