“Nice stay but...”

We stayed here he night before a cruise. We arrived about 10pm and the night attendant was very nice. He asked if I wanted a Smoking Room and I told him I reserved a NON Smoking room ONLINE and show him the copy of my reservation showing a non smoking room. He told me there were no more non smoking rooms because is computer does not specify smoking preference. I told him my daughter has asthma so she cannot be in a smoking room. He told me I am suppose to call the property to tell them I wanted a NON smoking room. I asked him what is the purpose of specifying smoking preference on the web site if I have to call? He told me it is some sort of computer flaw. (I used the Wyndham Hotel Group WEB Site) Anyways he ended up giving us (family of 4) someone else's non smoking room because they had not shown up yet. The night attendant was very considerate and as helpful as he could be. I do not believe it was his fault. I do believe Wyndham Group needs to fix their reservation system. The room seemed clean. The AC did not work well. The AC was loud and needed some freon because it was not very cold.
