“I'd rather sleep in a barn”

  , Montoursville
Howard Johnson's in Daleville, VA, was the most filthy motel we ever encountered. From the obvious dirt on most surfaces to the soft, plastic, wrinkled, yellowed toilet seat, this motel should be condemned. There were 2 roaches crawling on the ceiling, washcloth was dirty, smoke alarm indicator not working, exposed wiring where conduit broke, holes in bedspread, broken drape, wall lamp loose and hanging upside down on the wall. If my husband and I had not been exhausted from driving all day, we would have left. We have stayed in many, many motels. This was the absolute worst. No way were we going to stay and eat the "free" breakfast. A letter from us is being sent to Howard Johnson's and Wyndham.
