“Not great, but not terrible.”

  , Blacksburg, Va
We stayed for one night in the Warrenton Howard Johnson in early September 2013. We were going to a wedding and they were very accommodating in letting us check-in early since we needed to drop off our dog beforehand. The room was decent, had a nice balcony, and seemed clean. Unfortunately, since this is one of the least expensive places in Warrenton, it seems to attract some interesting characters. This would not be a huge problem, except the walls are paper thin. Our neighbors were loudly discussing their recent activities, which left us hoping that we were safe next door (ok, so not really, but it definitely made for an uncomfortable evening). We were unable to get the air working for part of the night, but once we did it flushed out some of the noise. Upon walking out in the morning, there was a trash can in the stairwell that was overflowing and appeared to be have vomit on it. Apparently breakfast is only served until 9:00, which includes coffee. When we asked about coffee, the front desk wanted to first confirm that we were staying there and then we had very lukewarm half cups of coffee (all that was left). It is a centrally located hotel, but you pay for what you get.
