“Don't stay here - Dishonest and Argumentative Manager”

I made a reservation online. Right after checking in and discovered that the exterior security door near my room was broken and could not be locked. I requested a refund and the manager refused to grant it. I immediately checked out of the hotel due to safety reasons. The hotel refused to refund the 2nd and 3rd nights of the stay that I had booked, in violation of the terms of the reservation I had made, which states that if I cancel, a charge for ONE night would appear on my credit card. I am still working with Wyndham to get this complaint resolved. In addition, the hotel has a set of policies posted by the front desk that you wouldn't find at any major hotel, such as not allowing guests in the building after 7:30 p.m. Also, the terms of my reservation stated that four people could stay in the room at the rate I booked, but the hotel policy is to charge extra for the 3rd and 4th persons. Clearly they are violating the terms of people's reservations. When I tried to resolve this with the manager, she told me my reservation was non-refundable (this was incorrect), but she did not look at the actual reservation or request my name or confirmation number. She was argumentative and would not listen to reason. She needs a lot more training.BOTTOM LINE: If you come here you are dealing with a manager in the dark ages, NOT with a major hotel chain. They should lose their Howard Johnson affiliation and not be allowed to use a trusted hotel chain name to attract online business.
